Pilot FAQs
How do we start the pilot?
The pilot begins with informed consent from residents and, where appropriate, their next of kin.
We ensure everyone involved understands the purpose of the pilot and how it will operate. This creates a clear moment for you and IHD to explain the benefits of Care Guardian and address any questions or concerns. Our team is on hand to support these discussions, whether in person or via video call.
Once consent is in place, the IHD team will set up the watches with residents, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident throughout.
With devices activated, the final step is a straightforward training session for your care team so they can begin using the software smoothly and effectively
Is there a minimum number of residents needed?
A diverse pilot group is essential.
We recommend including a minimum of 10 residents, representing the different care needs within your service.
This ensures you can clearly see how CareGuardian supports a range of individuals — and, most importantly, it gives you enough data to identify and track meaningful health trends that wouldn’t be visible in a smaller group.
How long will the pilot last?
Your pilot can be tailored to your organisation, but meaningful results require time.
As with any data-driven system, the longer the monitoring period, the stronger and more accurate the insights. CareGuardian also needs time to learn each resident’s unique patterns so it can deliver personalised health alerts and interpretations.
During the pilot, we work closely with your team to design the dashboards and KPIs that matter most to your service.
Every organisation is different, and the pilot period allows you to discover where the greatest value lies for both your staff and the people you support.
For these reasons, IHD recommends a minimum pilot duration of 20 weeks.
How much will it cost?
Pricing for the pilot is based on a simple monthly per-resident rate.
The pilot is heavily discounted because it operates as a partnership — your feedback directly shapes future versions of the IHD platform, benefiting both your organisation and the wider sector.
This fee covers everything: all software, all hardware, and any agreed product adjustments made during the pilot.
It’s a low-risk, cost-effective way to quickly assess the value of real-time, proactive health monitoring for your organisation.
Is data safe and what happens to it after the trial?
Yes — your data, and more importantly your residents’ data, is fully protected during and after the pilot.
Our platform is built on industry-leading technology, including Salesforce, Amazon Web Services and Android OS, ensuring robust, enterprise-grade security.
All data remains within the IHD platform and is fully secured at every stage.
At the end of the pilot, all captured data is permanently deleted.
CareGuardian is fully GDPR compliant and operates with strict access controls, ensuring only authorised individuals can view or process resident information.
